Our digital data
Our lives are digitized - our data lies in web sites all over the world, protected only by passwords.
A hacked account puts our lives completely at risk.
All our data - emails, Dropboxes, Evernotes, social networks, bank accounts, mortgage accounts and so on - is online. We do business onlie - buy stuff with our credit cards, apply to loans/credit cards with our SSN, transfer money, so on.
According to this study, a person has 6.5 passwords on average, and uses each password on an average of 4 sites. What that means is that if your password is hacked on web site, then your accounts on at leat 3 other sites are compromised! That number could be more if we do not have 6 or more passwords, or if we use the same password on more than 4 sites.
There are two problems with the current state of affairs:
- Not all sites are competent enough to store passwords securely
- We have too many passwords to remember
- Why are we still relying on passwords for logins?
We cannot leave our security to individual web sites. We need a professional handling of our digital data.
That is what Seqrly provides.
